Mitsubishi Electric conducted a demonstration experiment for its hands-free tourism solution in which unmanned delivery robots collect purchased products for tourists from shops and deliver them to designated places at selected times. The experiment was held from April 19 to 22, 2022, at a large commercial resort facility in Mie Prefecture, Japan.

The solution has the following characteristics:

• Delivery time/place are designated through tablets at shops and can be seen/modified on smartphones
• Delivery schedules are automatically created with our Maisart^® AI technology by predicting walkway congestion and are designed to arrive at the requested location within five minutes before or after the tourist’s selected time
• Unmanned delivery robots are equipped with multiple lockers to serve several customers at once

We will support shop operation with this solution by promoting the sales of heavy items or preventing customers from forgetting to pick up purchased products from shops.
