Looking for the Best in OPC Communications Servers?

Takebishi Corporation, the leading OPC server supplier in Asia, has chosen US-based ICONICS as its primary sales channel to reach customers in the Americas and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions. Takebishi's best-in-breed OPC Server, DeviceXPlorer, will add to ICONICS' portfolio of high performance, secure and reliable communications solutions.

DeviceXPlorer OPC Server (DXP) is an OPC Foundation-certified OPC Server that delivers connectivity to over 230 different devices through 80-plus communication protocols (visit  https://iconics.com/Products/DeviceXPlorer-OPC-Server to see the complete list of compatible protocols). This scalable solution is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit implementations for maximum performance.

A derivative solution, called DeviceGateway (DGW) supports embedded communications using docker containers.

These solutions are available now as a free trial download from the ICONICS website https://iconics.com/Products/DeviceXPlorer-OPC-Server for standalone use as well as use with HMI/SCADA/Historian/Analytics solutions from other vendors. Takebishi offers the best third-party OPC Server connectivity to Mitsubishi Electric products by leveraging the Mitsubishi Electric EZSocket Libraries.

The three companies are working closely together to help bring complete solutions to the marketplace across the multitude of vertical markets and to broaden digital transformation opportunities for the customer installed base.

ICONICS, a Group Company of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, is headquartered in Foxborough, Massachusetts and is a global software developer of visualization, HMI, SCADA and energy solutions. With over 375,000 installations in over 100 countries worldwide and running in over 70 percent of Global 500 companies, ICONICS software is recommended for automating, monitoring and optimizing a customer's most critical assets.

"Mitsubishi Electric Automation and ICONICS recognize the important business value of Takebishi products and how they can be leveraged to deliver connectivity solutions internationally," says Ted Hill, CEO of ICONICS. "We have chosen to partner with Takebishi as their primary sales channel in the Americas and Europe to offer our customers best of breed connectivity beyond any of the competition."

"ICONICS is a great solution for this strategic partnership as they have a broad reach into the market, offer industry leading support for OPC and have been known as an independent supplier of software since 1986," says Hiroshi Okagaki, Director and Managing Executive Officer – Takebishi. "ICONICS has been delivering other third-party OPC servers for many years, in addition to their own communication solutions.

"As the first company to develop and market an OPC server in Japan, Takebishi has developed multiple OPC Servers over the years, contributing to the spread of OPC technology. We believe ICONICS is the right choice to sell and support Takebishi solutions to the market as a whole in addition to their own solutions."

Adds Thomas Burke, Global Director of Industry Partnerships for ICONICS, "We are very proud to have been chosen to represent Takebishi in the Americas and EMEA markets. These markets have been dominated by only a few other vendor solutions and this new offering will be very welcome to OEMs, system integrators and end-customers across all markets and applications. Takebishi products are known for their high performance and reliable communications, which will support customers in their quest for digital transformation.

"Mitsubishi Electric Automation with ICONICS are very focused on solutions for their customers," he explains. "The Takebishi products provide the foundation for customers to really address their digital journey. Interoperability and being able to provide these products as the data communications strategy is the key to IT/OT convergence. Being able to push data into edge devices and turn it into useful information will provide significant benefits to end-users in terms of increasing their productivity and their KPIs."
