Motion Control Design Made Fast, Precise, and Economical

Machine builders and system integrators looking to reduce the time and resources it takes to design motion control systems need look no further than Mitsubishi Electric's bundled Economy Motion solutions.

These pre-engineered, ready-to-use solutions employ industry-leading Mitsubishi Electric technologies so that engineers can integrate high-precision motion control systems into new machines quickly, easily and affordably.

Three motion solution bundles – Compact, Basic and Pulse – are based around pre-configured component bundles that take the guesswork out of selecting parts. Because they all use Mitsubishi Electric products, compatibility between components is assured and performance can be second to none.

These scalable solutions can support from one to 32 axes of motion, allowing engineers to configure systems to meet their exacting requirements. Sample programs also help customers get up to speed faster. Key aspects of these motion solutions include:

Compact Motion
Available up to 7.0 kWs, the Compact Motion solution leverages Mitsubishi Electric's FX5 motion module, FX5 PLCs and MR-J5/MR-JET drives and motors to deliver premium performance at an affordable price. The bundle operates on the CC-Link IE TSN network, allowing for unparalleled communication speeds.

Designed for small to medium-size systems, Compact Motion supports up to 8 axes of synchronized motion per module, with up to 4 modules per PLC. In addition to Ethernet-based connectivity, this solution is IoT capable and incorporates high-speed mark detection.

Basic Motion
Basic Motion provides a low-cost motion solution that uses the integrated networking of the FX5 to control MR-J5/MR-JET amplifiers and motors. It operates over the CC-Link IE Field Basic network, allowing the integration of other IE Field Basic compatible devices.

Designed for small systems and medium performance, the Basic Motion solution supports 16 stations but without synchronized motion. It includes a PLC Open function block library.

Pulse Motion
The Pulse Motion solution for low performance, medium cost motion is suitable for small systems with simple servo axes. It uses MR-J5-A and MR-JE-A amplifiers for easy integration with third-party PLCs. And because it uses pulse train communication, it's able to communicate with almost any PLC. Pulse Motion does not require a motion module.
