Background: The MDS Series Amplifiers were introduced in 1992 and succeeded the MR-S Amplifiers. The MDS series amplifiers were the first AC Digital drives that had a common DC Bus.

The MDS Series amplifiers were succeeded by the MDS-D series amplifiers. This allows for complete position control as well as providing a new high-speed fiber communications from the Control to the drives.
