The Industrial Automation Engineer Certification program is designed to educate new and experienced personnel to become proficient in multiple disciplines commonly found in Industrial Automation applications. Students have the choice of becoming certified in select disciplines. Or, students can select three of the five disciplines to become a Certified Industrial Automation Engineer by Mitsubishi Electric Automation.

Robot Engineer Certification Curriculum

Robot Engineer Certification Curriculum

The use of robot and robot systems is increasing at an exponential rate due to ease of use, capability and flexibility. Employees with robot experience and certification are valuable assets to employers utilizing these systems. The following core classes are required to achieve Robot Engineer certification by Mitsubishi Electric Automation. RT Toolbox3 Robot Basic Programming (TRROB103P)
This course introduces attendees to Mitsubishi Electric robot products and the software required to configure robot systems. Students will learn how to program, configure, start-up, create teach points, change system parameters and maintain a robot system.

RT Toolbox3 Robot Advanced Programming (TRROB201A)
This course introduces attendees to advanced features associated with Mitsubishi Electric robot products. Students will learn how to implement end-of-arm tooling, incorporate additional axis and implementation of HMI to the system.

Motion Engineer Certification Curriculum

Motion Engineer Certification Curriculum

Motion control and servo systems are common place in the Industrial Automation sector. Employees having the skillset to program and troubleshoot these systems are valuable assets to employers.
Course requirements to attain Mitsubishi's Motion Engineer certification involve taking the MT Works2 Programming Class and exam and one additional subject with exam. Please review the following course descriptions to familiarize yourself with content and duration of a given class.

Simple Motion GXW3 (TRMOT202P): Core Class
This course is focused on positioning control. The material in the class is applicable to all of the RD77MS, RD77GF and FX-40SSC-S positioning modules common to the iQ-R/iQ-F platform. Principles such as positioning, parameters, homing, diagnostics, synchronous and camming features are covered. Students will have the opportunity to create programs using a multitude of programming languages.

MT Works2 Programming (TRSFT105P): Optional Class
This course is intended to familiarize the attendee with motion controllers and MT Works2 Software. The course focuses on Motion Control CPU and programming. The course does not address basic PLC addressing, address types, basic GX Works2 operation, or hardware configuration. This class is applicable to the QDS Motion CPU, QD Motion CPU, QH Motion CPU and the Q170M CPU and MR-MQ100 standalone motion controllers.

MR-J5 Motion Control (TRMOT203P): Optional Class
This course is focused on positioning control. The material in the class is applicable to the RD78G/GH Motion Controller and ME-J5 Servo System. Principles such as positioning, parameters, homing, diagnostics, synchronous and camming features are covered. Student exercises will be programmed using the Function Block (FB) language.

D75/D77 Positioning Modules (TRMOT112P): Optional Class
This course is intended to familiarize the attendee with the QD75, QD77, LD75, and LD77 families of motion control modules and the software needed to configure, make changes, and maintain a motion system. This class is focused on positioning control and does not contain a discussion of PLC addressing, address types, basic software operation or hardware configuration. The material in this class is applicable to all of the QD75, QD77, LD75, and LD77 positioning module families.

QD77/LD77 Advanced Positioning (TRMOT201A): Optional Class
This course is intended to familiarize the attendee with the synchronous control functions of the QD77 and LD77 families of motion control modules. This class is focused on the advanced control capabilities of the QD77 and LD77. Basic programming, operation, and troubleshooting of the modules is not covered in this class.

This course is designed to introduce the basics of Mitsubishi Electric's VFD Series. It is designed to give the attendee a thorough knowledge of the basic operations, common parameters, features and functions of the FR-D700, FR-E800, FR-A800 and FR-F800 standard model VFDs.
