People and automation: engineered for safe interaction

Attaining both safety and productivity

Compliant with Functional Safety Standards

The FR-D800 is engineered to meet relevant safety standards, simplifying compliance with IEC, ISO, ANSI, NFPA and UL Standards. The integrated hardware-based safety circuit interrupts output power when a safety function is triggered. Our functional safety-capable VFD minimizes additional hardware costs for safety compliance.

< Conformance level >

  • EN ISO 13849-1, PLd/Cat.3
  • EN 61508, EN 61800-5-2, SIL2

STO (safe torque off) function

The drive's Safe Torque Off (STO) function electronically removes motor power in response to an external safety input. This integration can reduce the number of required motor contactors (MCs) to a single device, significantly cutting initial system costs, simplifying maintenance, and reducing panel space while maintaining machine safety.*1

  • *1: One MC is required to shut off the power at an activation of the protective function.

Password Protected Parameters

Password function

Setting a 4-digit password can restrict parameter reading/writing.
It safeguards parameter settings against unauthorized or accidental modification.
